Companies House identity verification

You’ll be taken to a page with two options: an online ID check using your smartphone (no video call needed), or a manual route where you upload your documents and we then arrange a short video call with you. Whichever you choose, we review everything and inform Companies House once your verification is complete.

A passport or driving licence, and a proof of address dated within the last 3 months — utility bill, bank statement, Council Tax letter, mortgage statement, council or housing association tenancy agreement, or home insurance policy. No passport? See your options →

Yes. A son, daughter or anyone you trust can pay for you, and they can sit with you on the video call to help. The answers to our questions have to come from you.

You can try again at no extra cost. If we still can’t verify you, we refund you in full.

Yes. Companies House publishes its list of authorised agents (ACSPs) on GOV.UK. We’re listed as AVINAT LLP ACSP, Salford, supervised by HMRC. See the list on GOV.UK →
